About me

Based in Thames Ditton, Surrey, I have been working as a professional artist for over 10 years. I trained as a textile designer at Manchester Metropolitan University, but rather than work as a designer when I left I took the decision to work on business side. I worked in marketing and product development for some of the leading soft furnishing brands and finally as a buyer for The Conran Shop for London, Paris and New York stores. I got into painting again after the birth of the first son, painting friends’ houses and holiday memories as gifts.

My style comes from the discipline that was instilled in me during my degree course and a joy of the small details of life that surround us. My tutors insisted every week on ‘colour study’ and painting a ‘diary of a place’. This gave me a great understanding of colour and the ability to see everyday life as a source of inspiration. I want to include in my paintings ‘a moment in time’ that will bring back memories or even a smile to someone’s face

Now I work on both private and commercial projects and a range of prints from local places to rugby matches and children’s images.
